Newly launched in 2005, the Joker is the thinnest dynamic single rope in the world. It's also the only lead rope awarded a rating as a single, a double, and a twin by the UIAA!
Super light and thin, the Joker is designed for the high-end climbers demanding a lightweight rope as well as the traditional climbers searching for a versatile rope to be used on ridge routes, classic face routes, mixed ice and snow, or snow alone.
Advantages: multi-purpose, ultralight, extremely smooth. Can be used as a single rope, but when routes get tough or wanders, it can be doubled up, operating as a half-rope and/or twin rope.

When operating as a double/half rope: UIAA falls = 20, Impact Force = 6 kN. When in twin rope form: UIAA falls = >25, Impact Force = 9.5 kN. Note: when used as a single, this rope may not be gripped by all hands, in all belay devices, and requires expert holding and controlling. Standard belay devices, designed for ropes with wider diameters, will result in reduced braking, causing some self-locking/auto-locking devices to malfunction.
"In hand, the Joker is wispy yet firm. Though a single rope, it behalves like a double: It rappels fast and won't lock up a belay device as abruptly as a fatter rope." Rock & Ice, No. 140, March 2005
