Ultra Dry - Ultra Dry ropes offered by PMI have a special treatment on both the core and sheath of the rope to yield superior water repellency and help in abrasion-resistance.  Dry ropes are particularly well-suited for ice and alpine use, where wet conditions demand use of a double-dry rope.

Half & Half - Half & Half ropes offered by PMI feature an obvious change of sheath weave pattern at the midpoint to help quickly find the middle of the rope, making it a snap to set up rappels, and know when exactly half the rope is out on a lead.
